Perth sprinkler roster rules and top 10 suburbs breaching them

By Sara Fitzpatrick

With a marked increase in people breaching reticulation regulations this year, Water Corporation spokeswoman Clare Lugar reminds us of the rules.

Sprinkler roster rules

Sprinkler rosters are in place across Perth, with water users permitted to use the sprinkler systems two days per week, either before 9am or after 6pm.

Allocated watering days are based on the last digit of a house or lot number. If there is no house number, the lot number is used. To find out your water day, visit watercorporation.com.au/breach.

People who see a breach of the roster can make a report at watercorporation.com.au/breach. Households receive a $100 fine if they are seen breaking the rules by an inspector, and a warning if they are reported by the public, or if an inspector observes sprinklers have been used.

In Perth, around 89 per cent of warnings issued this year were the result of a community member reporting a breach to Water Corporation, demonstrating the level of support for the rosters.
