Festive Styling for Christmas - Shaynna Blaze style

Festive Styling for Christmas - Shaynna Blaze style

WHATEVER Shaynna Blaze prepares for Christmas, it is bound to look good. The interior designing reality television star said homemade activities and the sense of scent could be as important to festive styling as money shelled out in Christmas shops.

“Christmas is the time to bling your home to the max and create that Christmas spirit, but do have a theme consisting of a couple of colours only, otherwise it could turn into just a cluttered mess,” she said.

“Real trees are very now and with new services of home delivery, as well as pick-up, it has become more convenient.

“The smell of pine trees, cinnamon and vanilla is es-sential to get an overall Christmas feel, so have scented candles, burner oils and even soaps in your bathroom to add that extra layer of Christmas.

“If you don't have a lot of time for decorating, stick to a simple wreath on the door and small tree on a side table and entry with gold and silver candles."

If you are blessed with time, Shaynna said making bonbons was one of the best festive season activities for involving children.

“You choose the present, create your own 'daggy dad' quotes and the kids feel part of the whole process,” she said.

“If you are buying bonbons, go for the best ones you can afford as you are going to wear that hat through all of lunch and you don't want cheap paper dye running down your face as you sweat over the Christmas dinner.

“As for this season's Christmas colours, red and green will always be in style but Shaynna likes to go over the top with gold and white candles and bud shaped stars that match her décor scheme.

“If you wanted to stay away from the traditional colours, pale blues and washed whites are very now,” she said.

Shaynna Blaze is an award-winning interior designer and appears on reality television shows Selling Houses Australia and The Block.
