How to clean the grout in your bathroom

Looking for a quick and easy way to clean the grout in your bathroom? All you need is two ingredients found in most households, a spray bottle and a scrubbing brush.

Method:

  1. In your spray bottle, make up a mixture of equal parts water and vinegar. Spray generously on your grout and leave to sit for about five minutes. Give the grout a quick scrub with your brush (or even a toothbrush), and rinse with warm water.
  2. Put some baking soda and water in a small bowl and mix to form a paste. Apply the paste to your grout lines then spray again with the vinegar mixture. It will start to foam and bubble, which means it is working hard to remove dirt and soap scum. Once it has stopped foaming, give it another scrub with your brush and rinse with warm water.
  3. To keep your grout clean in the long term, spray weekly with your water and vinegar mixture. You can also add a couple of drops of any citrus essential oil, such a lemon or wild orange, for an extra clean look and smell.
