Tradies find paradise near Perth

Tradies find paradise near Perth

IF you’re a tradie seeking acreage for under $330,000, you could find paradise just outside Perth.

The Peel/Murray region, about 75km south of the state capital, is a popular choice for tradies as well as FIFO workers and lifestylers generally under 40 years of age who don’t want to live in the burbs, says Raine & Horne Mandurah principal Peter Vetten.

“Tradies and FIFO workers are looking for big sheds but also like acreage because it’s less weekly garden maintenance,” he said.

“Prices for 5ac lots are super reasonable in the Peel/Murray region and there is good supply.”

Mr Vetten said there was very strong buyer demand for properties in the region priced under $330,000 due to their affordability.

He said his agency had sold a lot of blocks in Bortolo Drive, Greenfields measuring about 2000sq m and priced in the low $200,000s.

“They are great value for large lots,” Mr Vetten said.

New data suggests Parklands is the most sought-after location for home hunters in the region.

Realestate.com.au figures show buyer interest in houses for sale in the suburb is high, with each property listing getting around 1353 online views - more than triple the WA median in the six months to June 30.

The popular locale also had the highest median for all dwelling types, coming in at $666,000.

Stake Hill was close behind, with a median price of $657,500 and a property in the suburb notching up about 1326 visits.

Barragup rounded out the top three, with a median price of $617,500 and about 810 views.
